June Work Party protects young saplings

The work party at the beginning of June spent the morning putting new supports and guards on young saplings. The original ones had been removed by vandals. At this young stage it is essential that saplings are protected from the voracious appetite of deer.
They were too late for some of the trees as the picture shows. The deer had killed them by nibbling away the bark.

These bluebells cheered the work party up and and they enjoyed a very pleasant morning’s work.
