FCWT recently commissioned the Forres Men’s Shed to make 24 bird boxes for installation in Muiry / Newforres and Sanquhar. The above photo shows the boxes being handed over to the Trust. They are of a very sturdy construction made from recycled wood and designed to last. The box entry holes are sized for blue tits and great tits, with the latter also suitable for tree creepers. Volunteers will be installing the boxes within the next couple of weeks.
To help offset the cost of this initiative we offer the opportunity to sponsor a box. The minimum sponsorship fee is £15 and in return we will provide a photograph of your box in place, the coordinates and a locator map showing the approximate location. Annual maintenance and cleaning of the boxes will be undertaken by FCWT.
