Groups of children from Rainbow Nursery have started exploring Sanquhar Woods. The photographs were taken on the first outing into the Woods.
The Rainbow Nursery manager Denise Gibbon explained that the staff at Rainbow Nursery had undertaken forest kindergarten training with Learning Through Landscapes. As the children are 3 and 4 years old the activities are very simple such as looking at the plants and natural environment and using loose items such as stones and twigs for counting and sorting. The Nursery is planning that all of their children will get an opportunity to visit the woods.
